Living Lean

LIVING LEAN – that was the title of the recent  session delivered by Stephen Walsh at the IMechE’s 2017 conference Essential Management Skills for Engineers in March.

The purpose of the three-day conference was to allow the participants to explore management within the engineering industry through the vast array of workshops delivered by leading speakers addressing areas such as communication skills, conflict management, legal requirements, project management and problem-solving.

The focus of Stephen’s workshop – Living Lean – was on the behaviours that underpin the Lean philosophy. The session incorporated a practical exercise to demonstrate how Lean can work for any day-to-day activity and is really a state of mind that steers behaviours.
